A pair of GeorgeIV rosewood library bergeres

Description:

A Fine pair of George IV rosewood library bergere armchairs. The figured rosewood frames having concave backs leading to scrolled and lappeted arms resting on turned tulip carved legs terminating in unusual patent brass castors. Fitted with tan hide seat cushions.
Retaining a good colour and surface throughout. The backs have been re-caned and coloured to match existing original. Leather seats are hand coloured replacement.

The style of these chairs and the patent castors are attributable to cabinet and chair maker JOHN WILKIE , No1 Norfolk Street, Fitzroy Square LONDON
