Late 18th Century Two Door Display cabinet

Description:

A Fine and rare late 18th Century sycamore and tulipwood banded two-door library bookcase in the manner of MAYHEW AND INCE five drawer base having a fitted drawer with an adjustable writing slope and two inkwells. The glazed top with inlaid tulipwood glazing bars and fine foliate applied decoration. Mouldings and drawer cock-beading are from satinwood.

Illustrated below, one of a pair of commodes supplied by MAYHEW AND INCE to Warren hastings for Daylesford House, between 1787-1792.
